Fenton Fong

Physical activity has always been an important part of Fenton's life. Throughout his childhood he participated in a variety of sports, from baseball and hockey to badminton and soccer. In University, Fenton excelled at volleyball and competed in international competitions, and to this day still plays and competes regularly.

While completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours degree from York University, Fenton also became interested in physical fitness and weight training. Motivated to improve his on-court performance, Fenton became a regular in the weight room, packing on over 25lbs of lean muscle mass.

In addition to sports, the arts have also played a significant role in Fenton's life. He continued to train and excel in volleyball, while pursuing his dream of becoming a professional songwriter. He is currently working on his first EP, Diamond, which is scheduled for release in the summer of 2014.

In 2012, Fenton found his way to Synergy Sports Medicine to work as an administrative assistant, where he became acquainted with the health and wellness industry and the Synergy team of health professionals. His experience, knowledge and passion for helping others naturally led him to becoming a Personal Trainer.

Fenton is currently a canfitpro PTS Certified Personal Trainer and is training to become a Rehabilitation Pilates Instructor, led by Riki Richter. This training allows Fenton to help his clients by teaching proper alignment, correct body movement patterns, and reduce injuries. Along with becoming a Rehabilitation Pilates Instructor, Fenton is planning to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) that will give him a rigorous academic background in sports-specific training and program design.

Fenton's athletic background, vast experience in fitness, and passion for helping others makes him a perfect fit within the Synergy team. He believes that with weight training, appropriate form and technique should never be compromised. With these key principles, his clients are not just achieving their fitness goals, but are also staying safe.

His philosophy is "Keeping you safe while reaching your goals."  Slow and steady will win the race.
