Practice style (Philosophy)
My approach to therapy is practical, creative, humorous, and interactive. Engaging in therapy is a vulnerable and courageous step, and I aim to foster a comfortable, collaborative process that is respectful of each individual's pace. When the tools and skills that were previously helpful are no longer working, I support clients to cultivate new coping skills, and identify potential areas for change and/or acceptance. If you find you are stuck in places, or there is a gap between where you are and where you would like to be, therapy can help uncover possibilities that may be hidden from us.
I am a seasoned therapist and mental health clinician who draws on theories of intersectionality, feminism, attachment, and cognitive behaviour therapy. Being an ally is a core value for me, and I work from an anti-oppression perspective. I offer both long term and time-limited therapy options depending on your goals and needs.
I am an avid solo canoeist who finds solace in nature. I enjoy the camaraderie and competition inherent in team sports, especially soccer! My first career was as a musician.
