Tyler Welch


Practice Style (Philosophy)

Tyler spent six years working alongside orthopedic surgeons treating people after a variety of surgeries including ACL repairs, joint replacement, rotator cuff repairs, and major traumas. He believes that a comprehensive assessment is required to identify the root cause rather than simply addressing symptoms. Tyler treats with a blend of manual therapy and targeted exercise using techniques such as myofascial release and joint mobilizations to help restore lost mobility and reduce pain. He then uses exercise to help strengthen key muscles required to improve function and prevent injury recurrence. His Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist background helps him bridge the gap between isolated rehabilitation exercises and the performance level training required to return to sport participation. He also uses the McKenzie MDT system, which emphasizes patient empowerment and self-treatment, giving patients the tools to stay out of pain long term.

Unique Facts

For seven years Tyler played rugby for the Toronto Scottish RFC and also trained extensively in Muay Thai kickboxing. Having hung up both his cleats and gloves, you can now find him strength training in the gym and running most days of the week or spending quality time with his wife, friends and family.
