Sports Medicine Doctor

West End (235 Wallace Avenue)

Dr. Melissa Weidman

Practice style (Philosophy)

Dr. Weidman believes in a holistic, patient-centred approach looking at each individual as a whole person rather than just an injury or illness. She is a firm believer in the practices of preventative medicine and that exercise is medicine. She enjoys working in multidisciplinary teams with varied areas of expertise, using shared decision making to help individuals live their best, healthiest lives. While she may be a medical expert, she believes that each individual is an expert regarding their own bodies. To that end, she completed her medical education at McMaster University prior to completing a 5 year residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and is pursuing further clinical expertise in cancer rehabilitation.
